International Tourism Business Course(for International Students)

The International Tourism Business Course is for students aiming to learn how to welcome tourists to Japan who are coming from their native country, and assisting tourists traveling to Japan. Students acquire knowledge and skills that they can immediately put to use at work upon graduation.
Classes are conducted so as to enable international students to gain an understanding of Japanese geography, history, culture, politics, and economy, as well as acquire knowledge on the travel industry and learn about the spirit of hospitality in Japan, etc.

International Tourism Business Course (Joint class with Japanese)

International students taking this course study the same curriculum together with Japanese students. They can also try taking the National Exam for the travel industry.
For this class, international students need to have a level of Japanese equivalent to Japanese Language Proficiency N1 (previously Level 1) and a level of English to Eiken Grade 3.

International Hotel Course (Joint class with Japanese)

International students taking this course study the same curriculum together with Japanese students.
Hotel information is common worldwide, so this class equips international students with knowledge and skills on hotels.
All students (including international students) will do work experience at a top class hotel in Japan.

  1. Geography, history and culture of tourist sites in Japan.
  2. Travel, tourism, accommodation and other areas in the tourism business.
  3. Necessary social skills for serving customers.
  4. Courses for acquiring qualifications and culture courses.

Required language proficiency

As the International Tourism Business Course (for International Students) is conducted in Japanese, students taking this course must have a level of Japanese equivalent to the Japanese Language Proficiency N2 (previously Level 2) or above.

International Tourism Business Course(Joint class with Japanese)

Aiming for the National Qualification

  • Certified Domestic Travel Service Supervisor (National Qualification)
  • Certified General Travel Service Supervisor (National Qualification)

What kind of qualification is the “Certified Travel Service Supervisor”?
All travel companies are required by law to have at least one person with this national qualification working at each travel agency.
There are two types of qualifications: “Certified Domestic Travel Service Supervisor” for domestic travel, and “Certified General Travel Service Supervisor” for both domestic and overseas travel.

Required language proficiency

International students taking the International Tourism Business Course(Joint class with Japanese) must have a level of Japanese equivalent to Japanese Language Proficiency N1 (previously Level 1) and a level of English equivalent to Eiken Grade 3.

International Hotel&Bridal Course(Joint class with Japanese)


All students do work experience at top class hotels in Japan.

1st year students do work experience twice in one year: 2 months from July and another 2 months from December. Wearing the same uniform as the hotel’s full-time staff, the students get to experience a range of work duties from being a bellboy or guest manager to working at the hotel restaurant, etc. (The work experience may be cancelled in some cases according to circumstances.)

Required language proficiency

As the International Hotel Course (Joint class with Japanese) is a practical course in which students study about hotels with native Japanese, international students taking this course must have a level of Japanese that is somewhere between Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 and N2.

Please prepare the following application documents and bring them with you to the interview.
(1) Application for Enrolment
(2) Graduate certificate (original) or diploma from the last school you completed overseas (the original) (We will return the original after making a copy)
(3) Proof of grades/attendance at a Japanese language school (only those attending or who have graduated from a Japanese language school should submit) (Must contain monthly attendance records and period of enrollment)
(4) Certificate of Expected Graduation
(5) Passport (we will confirm your visa and make a copy).
(6) Residence card (we will take a copy).
(7) Certificate of Japanese language ability (only those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test should submit) Or, certificate of results from Japan foreign student test (those who have this)
After the interview (documents screening), we will accept your application for consideration for enrolment (by examination). [Fee for enrolment consideration: 20,000 yen]
The test will be conducted on the enrolment consideration date you select. The results of the enrolment consideration will be sent by post.

Priority will be placed on the enthusiasm of applying international students for the desired area of study, Japanese proficiency (also English proficiency for the International Travel Business Course) and their study environment (this College requires an attendance record at a Japanese language school of at least 80%).

Admission criteria (applicants need to meet the following 3 criteria (1., 2., 3.)

  1. Completed a minimum of 12 years schooling in a foreign country.
  2. Any of the following items of (1) – (4)
    (1) Completed a minimum of 6 months Japanese language education at a language institution certified by Japanese educational institutions, and recognised by this College as having a level of Japanese equivalent to the Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 (previously Level 2).
    (2) Acquired Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2 or above. (Test run by the Association for The Japan Educational Exchanges and Services and Japan Foundation)
    (3) Acquired a score of 200 or above on the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU)
    (4) Acquired a score of 400 or above on the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test.
  3. If studying at a Japanese language school, an attendance record of at least 80%.

The following costs are required on top of the above listed tuition fees:

Training trip fee (for the international students who enrolled in 2018)

The international students can participate in the training trips planned for the International Tourism Business Course and International Hotel Course but this is not obligatory. Participation fees are as follows: You may need a visa for the country you are visiting if the training takes place abroad.
